One side is leather while the other side is a faux fur material for a softer touch. The Sportsheets Leather Paddle with Black Fur has a light weight wood core layer with leather on one side and the faux fur on the other stitched. The leather side can provide a nice thump and stinging sensation while the fur side can be used to caress in between the leather side spankings or for a much softer impact. The paddle is about 14.25" in total length with a width of 2.75" and is fairly lightweight.
